On 28 November, the Fudan Centre had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Center for Modern Shanghai Studies 现代上海研究中心 (CMSS). The delegation was headed by professor Yan Aiyun 严爱云, deputy director of the center.
Professor Yan gave a presentation on the primary tasks at CMSS, which undertakes research related to the economy, culture, politics and societal development of the city of Shanghai. It also collects and compiles historical material in both written and oral form, and holds activities of academic exchange.
Executive vice director, Chunrong Liu, then gave an introduction to the work, scope and future trajectories of the Fudan Centre.
Present at the meeting was also PhD student Ma Yi and professor Jørgen Delman of the University of Copenhagen, who engaged in dialogue with the delegation on the academic work of their respective institutions.
Finally, NIAS-Nordic Institute of Asian Studies was also represented through centre administrator Katrine Herold, system administrator and web developer Bernd Wunsch and publishing assistant at NIAS press Adam Øster Posselt, who jointly gave a brief presentation of their different roles and the overall work in which NIAS engages.
