For the sixth year in a row, the Fudan Centre in collaboration with NIAS - Nordic Institute of Asian Studies and Nansen Academy welcomed all interested participants to convene in Lillehammer for the annual Understanding Asia conference.

This year, the conference assumed a broader geographical focus than previous years, and focused instead on the theme Challenging Western Stereotypes - Presenting Asian Worldviews. Lectures and cultural activities touched upon both China, Japan, and the Korean Peninsula, and also showed important perspectives to the complicated relationships between these countries, as well as the US and Russia.
